Halloween Season Creeping In at the Library

October is officially the most festive month at the Los Angeles Public Library with a whirlwind of Halloween-themed activities for the whole family. Beyond getting your fill of books, movies, and music to inspire a ghoulish month, here are a few fun programs popping up before the trick-or-treaters hit the streets–from ghostly story times to monster puppet shows, spooky face painting, candy apple making, and more.

Halloween Movie

Halloween is for Making Friends-Puppet Show

Join us for a fun and interactive Halloween puppet show for the entire family! “Monster Mash Up” tells the story of a lonely mad scientist who has no friends to go trick-or-treating with.  He decides to go on a wacky adventure to collect parts to create a friend in his lab!  For kids and pre-school ages.

Swazzle Puppet Company will present their new, exciting, interactive (and NOT scary) puppet show “Musical Monster Mash-Up” at 4:00 pm. Before and after the show, enter our Halloween Candy House of fun, and be prepared for lots of sweet treats! The candy house will open in the children’s department before the show (at 3:30 pm) and immediately after the show. All treats will be kosher.
