What We Fund

Every public library is a world of possibility. It’s where the city becomes a community—where culture, education, and democracy are cultivated. This is the transformative power the Library Foundation supports by funding LAPL programs that nurture literacy, imagination, and lifelong learning.

And we do it with the help and generosity of fellow library lovers who give to the Library Foundation and share our belief that the library can change the world, starting right here in LA.

We inspire lifelong learning

The library serves people of all ages and inspires adults to nurture their curiosity, providing resources for continuous growth.

We help students succeed

From early literacy programs to college prep, our resources are helping students all over LA succeed in and out of school.

We engage the imagination

Conversations, readings, screenings, performances, celebrations, and events are just a few of the ways we spark creativity and community.

Thank you to all the supporters who help us sustain the vital work of the Los Angeles Public Library.
