ALOUD

conversations, readings, and performances

What began in 1992 as a live author conversation series—one of the first in Los Angeles—has grown to include all-ages events at neighborhood libraries co-curated with librarians, panels exploring topics from multiple perspectives, and large-scale multi-disciplinary cultural happenings with curated partners.

ALOUD, our public programming series, continues to welcome all kinds of inspiring thinkers and luminaries—National Book Award winners, MacArthur Geniuses, Oscar-winning filmmakers, U.S. Poet Laureates, countless bestselling authors, rising literary talents, and more—to engage and exchange ideas with the Los Angeles community through several dozens of programs each year.
