Shawn Rubin

Shawn Rubin serves as the Chief Financial and Operating Officer for the Library Foundation of Los Angeles. In this capacity, she oversees various functions, including finance, human resources, information technology, and operations, in addition to managing the Library Store. Her responsibilities encompass personnel management, the daily execution of operations, long-term strategic planning, budgeting and forecasting, oversight of endowment management, and auditing processes. Since she arrived at LFLA in September 2021, Shawn has successfully revitalized the finance and accounting department by introducing advanced financial systems, streamlining accounting processes, enhancing reporting practices, and implementing strategic initiatives in HR including revamping the payroll system and updating the compensation and benefits strategy.

Before joining LFLA, Shawn gained valuable experience as the Vice President of School Finance at ExED, a prominent charter school management organization. In this role, she served as Chief Financial Officer for four different charter organizations. Her background also includes roles at leading financial institutions, such as American Express, Citigroup, and Nortel Networks, where she contributed to their finance and/or marketing departments.

Shawn holds a master’s degree in business administration specializing in Finance from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University, Bloomington, and a Bachelor’s degree from the University of California, San Diego.

Stacy Lieberman

As President and CEO of the Library Foundation of Los Angeles (LFLA), Stacy Lieberman is an innovative and inclusive leader whose career dwells at the intersection of arts and culture, lifelong learning, storytelling, and equitable access. Stacy guides the Foundation’s philanthropic and public-facing priorities to serve the Los Angeles Public Library, embracing the notion that libraries are beacons of democracy where everyone is welcome. She works intentionally with community leaders, donors, and internal and external strategic partners to raise awareness and resources for the Library and its life-changing initiatives.

With more than 20 years of experience as a senior executive, Stacy has left an indelible mark on iconic L.A. arts, non-profit, and educational institutions such as The Broad, the Autry Museum of the American West, and the Skirball Cultural Center. Building on an early career in book publishing, she has dedicated her professional life to sharing stories and broadening the reach of public institutions to welcome visitors and students of all ages and backgrounds to experience educational, arts, and cultural opportunities.
