The Los Angeles Public Library’s LA Made series celebrates our city’s beautiful diversity through presentations, talks, and performances at libraries across the city. These free and accessible events bring all kinds of Angelenos together, sparking creativity, discourse, cultural appreciation, and connectedness.
LA Made has hosted talks with 404 by L.A. Times, the Compton Cowboys, RuPaul, and trans activist Janet Mock; concerts by the Golden Bridge Choir and synth-legend Suzanne Ciani; and performances by Viver Brasil Afro-Brazilian dancers, the Lula Washington Dance Theater, and Ballet Folklorico de Los Angeles. Past events have also included a panel on Black punk rock, a celebration of Taco Day with L.A. Taco, a film screening with the late Jonathan Gold, and workshops by Get Lit’s young slam poets.
This program is made possible thanks to the generous support of the National Endowment for the Humanities.
