An Evening with Willa Cather – Member Reception

5:30pm | Member Reception
7pm | ALOUD Program

This ALOUD program invites you to experience a 150-year anniversary celebration of Willa Cather—a peer of Hemingway, Faulkner, Fitzgerald, and Wharton—and one of the most treasured American writers of the early 20th century. Curated by Peter Cipkowski of the National Willa Cather Center, this program will feature readings from actors Linda Bisesti (The Conners) and Matthew Reidy (Billy Comes Home), punctuated by art songs of Clara Schumann and Franz Schubert performed by Christine Li (mezzo-soprano) and Sean Stanton (baritone) with pianist Timothy Wong.

Join us after the program for a Member reception, presented in partnership with the National Willa Cather Center where you and a guest can enjoy hors d’oeuvres, drinks, and lively conversation with the curator, featured performers, fellow Members of the Library Foundation of Los Angeles, and Members of the National Willa Cather Center.

Not yet a Member? Join today for access to this reception and other great Membership benefits, all for the love of the Library!
