Bibliophiles & Friends Spring Reception

The Library Foundation of Los Angeles invites you to guided tour by Christina Rice, Senior Librarian of the LAPL Photo Collectionof Our Story is Yours: A Los Angeles Public Library Sesquicentennial Celebration, an exhibition of images and objects of LAPL history celebrating the story of Los Angeles. 

Christina Rice will also take us on an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of the LAPL Photo Collection Department where you’ll see the Central Library’s archival spaces not open to the public and how librarians catalog and digitize rare and historical images dating back to the 1850s.

Christina Rice began her career with the Los Angeles Public Library in 2005 and has been the Senior Librarian of the library’s historic photo collection since 2009. She has curated multiple library exhibitions including LAPL150 – Our Story is Yours (2023) and Life on a String: The Yale Puppeteers and the Turnabout Theatre (2021). She is the author of Mean…Moody…Magnificent! Jane Russell and the Marketing of a Hollywood Legend (University Press of Kentucky, 2021) and Ann Dvorak Hollywood’s Forgotten Rebel (University Press of Kentucky, 2013).

Stacy Lieberman

As President and CEO of the Library Foundation of Los Angeles (LFLA), Stacy Lieberman is an innovative and inclusive leader whose career dwells at the intersection of arts and culture, lifelong learning, storytelling, and equitable access. Building on an early career in book publishing, she has dedicated her professional life to sharing stories and broadening the reach of public institutions to welcome visitors and students of all ages and backgrounds to experience educational, arts, and cultural opportunities.
