Join fellow Members and friends for exclusive access to the Library and the America’s Shakespeare: The Bard Goes West exhibition!

This exhibition commemorates the 400th anniversary of the death of William Shakespeare by exploring his enduring impact on California’s history and culture. The centerpiece of the exhibit is a First Folio (1623) from the Folger’s Shakespeare collection – the largest of its kind in the world. The Bard Goes West will draw on state and local resources to show Shakespeare’s presence in 19th century theaters, saloons and hotels of the mining camp towns, and in the early film industry in Los Angeles.

The Members-only reception will give you exclusive access to the exhibition and behind-the-scenes details from staff, docents, and colleagues of the Los Angeles Public Library and Library Foundation. RSVP today to enjoy this casual event. Also, make sure to keep your eyes and ears open for a special experience…You won’t want to miss this!

Light brunch items and refreshments will be provided.
