Join us for the relaunched-and-now-virtual Young Literati Book Club! We may be separated, but that doesn’t mean we can’t eat, drink, and talk books…

Featuring author Mallory O’Meara in conversation with Colin Hanks

Thursday, October 8

7:30 pm, via Zoom

Telling the true story of Milicent Patrick, a trailblazer in cinema, O’Meara’s book “The Lady from the Black Lagoon” uncovers the lost-to-history details of a feminist Hollywood pioneer. Patrick was the only woman to design a classic film monster and was one of Disney’s first female animators. Her contributions to special effects were buried by a jealous male colleague, but O’Meara’s research into her remarkable life is finally putting Patrick back in her rightful place in film history!

Stay tuned for a registration link to hit your inbox soon! We encourage you to pre-order the book from The Library Store; you will also be able to order when you register for the event.
