La esencia de lo que somos está envuelta en nuestro lenguaje. ¿Qué conocimiento humano se pierde cuando un lenguaje se extingue? ¿Por qué debería de importarnos? Acompáñanos en ALOUD para una conversación informal entre activistas del lenguaje que trabajan para recuperar lenguas indígenas en California y México. Compartiendo por primera vez en un escenario, este grupo único de participantes incluye: a la lingüista experta y preservadora del lenguaje Leanne Hinton; al activista del lenguaje e indígena de California, Vincent Medina; a Odilia Romero Hernández, activista zapoteca de los derechos lingüísticos; y al poeta/activista Bob Holman, coproductor del documental Language Matters de PBS (Servicio Público de Radiodifusión, por sus siglas en inglés).

Stacy Lieberman

With more than 20 years of experience as a senior executive, Stacy has left an indelible mark on iconic L.A. arts, non-profit, and educational institutions such as The Broad, the Autry Museum of the American West, and the Skirball Cultural Center. Building on an early career in book publishing, she has dedicated her professional life to sharing stories and broadening the reach of public institutions to welcome visitors and students of all ages and backgrounds to experience educational, arts, and cultural opportunities.
