The library is a hub of information and inspiration—this residency program gives Angelenos from all creative disciplines the opportunity to experience the library as the creative haven it is by using LAPL’s collections and services to fuel new work.
Through an open call, the LAPL receives more than 700 applications each year, ranging from filmmakers to poets to cultural historians to composers, and beyond, widely reflective of the creative talent in the diverse communities across the city.
Past Creators in Residence:
- Andy Crocker (2024)
- Shing Yin Khor (2024)
- Kwasi Boyd-Bouldin (2022)
- River Garza (2022)
Creators in Residence is co-produced by the Library Foundation and Los Angeles Public Library and supported through the generosity of the Lenore S. and Bernard A. Greenberg Fund.
