Sneak Peek: Film to Table

On Thursday, August 27, Lost & Found at the Movies returns to Central Library for a seven-course filmic feast exploring the many rich flavors of “food in film.” With special guests Laura Gabbert (filmmaker) and Jonathan Gold (subject) of the new documentary City of Gold, a fascinating, layered portrait of the Pulitzer Prize-winning food critic and his intrepid culinary exploration of Los Angeles, the program will also look at how food has been part of the texture of cinema, its stories, characters, themes and metaphors from the earliest years of film to the present. As an appetizer before the main event, here are a few delicious clips from some of the cinematic moments we’ll be chomping on next week. P.S. This Labor Day weekend, the Los Angeles Times will be hosting its signature Food & Wine event: The Taste. Join Jonathan Gold to taste and drink all the unique flavors this city has to offer as star chefs and mixologists serve up imaginative and exciting fare that’s authentically L.A.!
