Members of the Library Foundation of Los Angeles’ Young Literati are invited to an exclusive book event celebrating Dream State, the highly anticipated new novel by award-winning author Eric Puchner. In conversation with writer Sarah Shun-lien Bynum, Puchner will discuss his latest work, a sweeping and deeply affecting story masterfully exploring family, ambition, and the fragile dreams that shape our lives.

Eric Puchner
Eric Puchner is the author of the novel Model Home, a finalist for the PEN/Faulkner Award and winner of a California Book Award, and two collections of short stories, Last Day on Earth and Music Through the Floor. His fiction and personal essays have appeared in GQ, Granta, Tin House, and The Best American Short Stories. He has received a Wallace Stegner Fellowship, a National Endowment for the Arts grant, and an Award in Literature from the American Academy of Arts and Letters.

Sarah Shun-lien Bynum
Sarah Shun-lien Bynum is the author of two novels—Ms. Hempel Chronicles, a finalist for the PEN/Faulkner Award, and Madeleine Is Sleeping, a finalist for the National Book Award and winner of the Janet Heidinger Kafka Prize—and a story collection, Likes. Her fiction has appeared in many magazines and anthologies, including The New Yorker, Ploughshares, Tin House, and The Best American Short Stories.
