Complimentary LFLA Member Reception with ALOUD featuring Nicholas Boggs and Lena Waithe
5:30pm – Member Pre-Program Reception
7pm – ALOUD Program, Baldwin: A Love Story

“Nicholas Boggs’s monumental biography considers James Baldwin through the prism of love…Compulsively interesting and beautifully written—there is something to treasure on every page.”
— Zadie Smith, author of White Teeth

We’re bringing together Bibliophiles, Library Council Members, Leadership Circle Members, and Young Literati Members for a special private reception preceding the ALOUD program Baldwin: A Love Story, featuring author and scholar Nicholas Boggs and Emmy Award-winning actress and producer Lena Waithe.

Enjoy complimentary drinks, delicious bites, and the opportunity to meet and mingle with these two distinguished creative voices before the program. Baldwin: A Love Story is the first biography of James Baldwin in three decades—rich with newly uncovered archival material, original research, and interviews that illuminate how Baldwin’s intimate and artistic relationships shaped his life and work.

Reserved seating for the program is included with your reception registration.
