Young Literati 13th Annual Toast
Saturday, April 16, 2022
City Market Social House, DTLA

From the Nightstand to a Night Out:
The Toast is Back, and In Person!

Join us and Young Literati Chair Ginnifer Goodwin for an evening of literature, music, and comedy celebrating the Los Angeles Public Library!

This year, we are thrilled to return the Annual Toast to City Market Social House, where the Toast was held in 2019, pre-pandemic. This time, in 2022, we’ll feature readings and performances that pay homage to the literature that has helped us pull through the last two years. Those precious books on our nightstands that kept us sane during an extraordinary time will be the highlight of this night out on April 16.

Supporting
After a vote by the YL membership, we’re excited to announce that the funds raised at this year’s Toast will support the Helping Students Succeed umbrella of programming at the Library, including:

  • We Read Together, workshops and programs that help parents and caregivers engage their children in early literacy practices to cultivate a lifelong love of reading;
  • Online Tutoring, high-quality private tutoring in 40+ subjects made available to K-12 and college students from 11 am to 11 pm daily;
  • Student Zones, dedicated library spaces that connect K-12 students with a trained after-school homework helper to assist them with homework and help them take advantage of the Library’s abundant academic resources; and
  • Reading Challenges, a year-round initiative that promotes reading and learning during extended school breaks.
