Summer Apprenticeship Program supports a new generation of library professionals by encouraging college students who are underrepresented in the field to consider professional librarianship. Through a ten-week mentored learning experience, students gain hands-on knowledge in various aspects of library work with the support of professional mentors.
The program increases equitable access to workforce development opportunities in library science, strengthens diversity within the profession, and builds career pathways for first generation students.
This program is made possible thanks to the generous support of:
Vera R. Campbell Foundation
“The apprenticeship is amazing. Librarianship is evolving and, especially with technology, the ways that we serve the community is expanding.”
